Rating
This board is 13+, and anyone under this age should have a parent or guardian’s consent before joining. Be aware that some topics on this board may contain content inappropriate for younger readers (Language, Violence, Sex, Drugs and Alcohol).
Topics that may contain sensitive subjects (Self-Harm, Eating Disorders, Abuse, Death, or Mental Illness) must be rated with a "T" for triggering. These issues should also be handled in a mature manner.
Character Creation
-Each character must have a face claim. No two characters are allowed to have the same face claim, unless they are twins.
-You may reserve a face claim by contacting an admin, but you must claim this face claim within two weeks of reserving it or it will be taken off the reserved list.
Multiple Characters
-Multiple characters are allowed on this board. There is a limit of 10 characters. If you wish to make more after that, you must have permission from an administrator.
-One person may not make more that one character within a span of 24 hours without permission from an admin.
RP Rules
-All replies must be written in the third person, past tense.
-Godmodding or overpowering is prohibited. Godmodding is when you attempt to control characters other than your own (Carrie ran away, but Taylor ran after her, etc.). Overpowering is when you make your character better than everyone else's, usually in a physical way. For example, if two characters were to get in a fight, you would not be allowed to write that the other character was weak and defenseless against your own, unless that was actually the case between the two characters.
-Time jumping is allowed as long as you are absolutely positive that it will not affect characters outside of the time jump.
-Please try not to make Mary Sues. Mary Sues are characters who are perfect in every way and have no character flaws whatsoever. They are all too common, but very boring to rp with.
Absences/Activity
-If you are leaving the site for an extended period of time, please let an Admin know.
-There will be monthly activity checks to see which characters are active and which ones aren't. Characters that are posted as inactive will be deleted. Characters that are not posted will be temporarily deactivated until the player returns and contacts an Admin to reactivate their account(s).
Treatment of Others
-Please respect your fellow members. Rudeness, harassment, or abuse towards any member of the forums is absolutely PROHIBITED and grounds for suspension or banning. This includes incessant requests for a certain member to post or forcing them to RP scenes of issues that they may not be comfortable with.
Player Coercion
-Gossip Girl RP is an RPG accessed by people of all ages and backgrounds, and while all of our characters may be around the same age, it is important to be mindful of the age gap that does exist in real life. Some members can be legally adults and others around their mid-teens (or younger) and while the romance here is 13+, be aware that some may not feel comfortable involving themselves in that kind of expression.
-It is also important to remember that while your characters are friends/dating/mortal enemies, those dedications do not extend outside of what is being played on the board. No single person is obliged to RP with someone if they have other pursuits they wish to do with their characters. You have no say in how they spend their time here. It's not worth getting angry over if someone isn't replying as quickly as you want them to, or they are choosing to RP with someone else over you.
-Try writing in a partnership and be understanding that sometimes inspiration and time constraints are a factor. A person may feel a strong tug towards another character or thread that does not involve you. Trying to force people to RP with you IS bullying and will not be tolerated.
-If you have heard of or are the victim of this kind of behavior, please don't hesitate to contact an Admin.
Treatment of Staff
-Treat your staff with respect. It’s that simple. They put a lot of work into this site, and without them the site wouldn't exist. They keep the site up and running, so respect is the least that they deserve.
