Closing time. It was Lucas' favorite part of the day, but only because it signaled that it was almost time to go home. Tonight it was just him and another waitress cleaning up the chairs and tables. Leslie was her name. Lucas didn't know much about her, other than the fact that she went to Constance, but she seemed like someone he would like to get to know better. And the fact that she was beautiful didn't hurt. "Hey, you know, I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out some time?" Lucas asked when he got to a table that was somewhat close to the table she was cleaning.

Leslie really wanted to get home. She was tired and she had to go watch her sister. She looked over at Lucas as he began to talk. She couldn't tell if Lucas was trying to ask her out or not. "On a date?" Leslie asked. She pursed her lips. She didn't want to be rude but she also didn't want to tell him she was gay.

Lucas laughed a little. "If you'd like that," he said, smiling his charming smile at her. It was no secret that Lucas was a bit of a womanizer, but at least he was classy about it. He hadn't really dated anyone since Gen, but he'd gone out on a couple of dates. It wasn't that he was still in love with Gen, though. It was just that he couldn't get over what she had done.

"I uh I don't think that's very possible," Leslie said. "I'm sorry, " She said quickly trying to finish what she was doing. She didn't want to be having this conversation. She already felt awkward.

Lucas had not expected her to say no. At all. He'd never actually been rejected before. "Oh uh okay then," he said, then he just went back to his work. But he felt awkward just leaving them in silence. "So, um, do you know Gen St. Claire? She goes to your school." Of course, he had no idea where that conversation was going, but it was better than awkward silence.

Leslie wasn't sure about staying there she was almost finished but lucas kept talking to her. "Yeah, everyone knows her," Leslie said. She put up some more chores and finally finished what she was doing.

Lucas rolled his eyes slightly. "Oh right, I forgot. Little Miss Queen of the World," he said, obviously annoyed. But then he realized that he sounded annoyed with Leslie, which wasn't the case. "Sorry," he said. "She just bugs me." Lucas couldn't believe how awkward he was being.

"She bugs me too," Leslie sai with a small laugh. She hated the whole social heinarchy that was Constance. It made her want to come out even less than she already did. She knew they'd find out one day though. Gossip girl was every where. "Why did you bring her up?" Leslie asked curiously.

Lucas shrugged. "Just trying to make conversation, I guess," he said. "She and I used to date. I figured if you were friends with her, then we would have something to talk about." Lucas was just rambling at this point, but it didn't feel as awkward anymore.
